Is this what the “American Dream” has become? Has the proverbial piece of the pie become toxic? This is the America of today, yet so many within American society seem to be either oblivious to the issues, apathetic or perhaps dont view any of these things as problems at all. In this book the author presents the problems and turmoil within America in a very blunt and unapologetic tone. Problems such as ignoring Americas crumbling infrastructure yet spending billions on seemingly unending war. Americas seriously out of control deficit, a broken health care system that causes well over half of all personal bankruptcies and leaves a large segment of society without adequate care because of the ever-rising costs, blatant and rampant religious bigotry, foreign policies that only serve to alienate and anger the rest of the world which America seems to believe it has the right, somehow, to police. Legislation regarding immigration that is clearly racially motived. These are some of the things presented in this book for the problems they are with no sugar-coating whatsoever. It is time for America to do some “growing up” and realize that it is a citizen of the world, not the ruler of it. Some of the problems America is facing have no easy and clear-cut solution, but one thing is sure... America needs to address these issues and do so rapidly before it, as the book states, “ heads the way of ancient Rome, only much, much more quickly”.
